About Alpine Bakery

Alpine Bakery is an environmentally and socially responsible business providing sourdough/artisan bread, veg/fruit produce, and other foods to our local customers of Whitehorse and larger Yukon Territory. We are all-organic, including food catering in our second floor conference space as well as to business meetings/conferences of various sizes throughout the city. In the evening, we host regular yoga classes as well as monthly documentary film nights.

More than just a bakery, our 22 year vision has been to offer wholesome organic fair-trade food products, promote healthy and sustainable lifestyle choices, and foster social and environmental activism to our customers and business community.

Alpine Bakery is located in downtown Whitehorse, on the banks of the mighty Yukon River, surrounded by pristine mountains, lakes, and spacious sky. A place of 'magical' extremes--the dark of winter, with awesome northern lights and winter sports, such as downhill/cross-country skiing, snowboarding, dogsled-mushing and Canada Games indoor sports center. Summers are exceptionally beautiful with long days of sunlight ideal for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, and camping. There is a vibrant arts community too with year round concerts, exhibitions and classes. Most visitors and new residents find Whitehorse "very friendly" and are usually surprised by the modernity in housing/communications, above average wages, tax advantages, and daily access to Vancouver or Calgary via short jet flights with Air North and Air Canada.
